LE Students Visit the Waldensian Trail of Faith

Recently, the Living Education–Charlotte students took a field trip to the Waldensian Trail of Faith to learn a little more about part of our spiritual heritage. The video below and others can be found on the Living Ed YouTube channel. Check it out the video, then check out the channel!

Living Ed Video! Looking Back on 2022–2023

I just saw this was online and realized many of you may have never seen it. So, as the Living Ed school year begins anew here in Charlotte this week, we thought it would be good to highlight this video featuring last year’s class—that is, the class of 2023—and illustrating a little about life at LE! This year’s group, the class of 2024, is the largest yet at 22. Looking forward to what the next nine months has in store for them.

What Are They Up To at Living Education–Charlotte?

If you’ve ever wondered whether the “on campus” Living Education experience might be for you, one of the best ways to get a sense of what it’s like is to tap into the Living Education–Charlotte blog.

Each year, a student is assigned to post regularly in the blog area of Living Education’s LCGEducation.org site and write about what’s happening. This year’s student, Kaleb Johnson, posts about social activities, ways the dorms are serving the local congregation here in Charlotte, and presentations made by teachers and other faculty to the students. Others also contribute, and there are many posts by second-year student Nathan Kroon, LE staff member Rebekah Ross, and others. And photos from events are frequently featured.

So, if you’d like to get a sense of what it’s like being a student at Living Education–Charlotte, head on over to the blog and let them tell you firsthand!

Podcast: What can Living Education do for you?

Today (Friday), the Class of 2022 graduated from the on-campus Living Education–Charlotte program, and yesterday, we had the opportunity to sit down with Mr. Jonathan McNair and pick his brain about both the program and his own long history of working with youth in the Church. Whether you are a teen or young adult with questions about Living Ed, a parent trying to decide how to guide your kiddos into their futures, or just someone wanting to know more about the program, this podcast answers all the questions. it was a real pleasure to sit down with Mr. McNair—who informed us, by the way, that there are still openings for the 2022–2023 year here in Charlotte! If you are interested in checking it out, listen to the podcast, and click on this link to apply.

Interesting in applying to Living Education–Charlotte?

Living Education is still taking applications to join the on-site educational program for the 2022–2023 academic year, where students spend a year in Charlotte at the Church’s Headquarters, getting grounded in the faith and working part-time at the office. If you are interested in applying or have questions, you can start by clicking right here!

Did you know Living Ed is on Spotify?

While Living Education is out there at lcgeducation.org, ready for you anytime you are, a lot of members aren’t aware of a tiny slice of LE is out there on Spotify, as well. Mr. Ken Frank’s “Digging Deeper” recordings are available as a podcast on Spotify, where you can follow them and add them to your own library. We know Spotify is a popular music and audio resource for teens and families alike, and we thought you’d want to know. Head out there and check it out! The embedded link below will either show the most recent upload from LE or the one that was most recent when we first embedded it. Frankly, we’re still figuring out the “posting” thing. Regardless, there should be a “Follow” button at the very least, and if you want to see the Spotify homepage for the whole show, instead of just one episode, you can click here. We hope you’ll give it a listen, and thank you, Mr. Frank and the LE team, for putting these out here for us!

Wrestling with Worldviews

Someone in the Editorial Department was reflecting back on some of the Forums and Assemblies enjoyed by the Living Education students over the last year here in Charlotte and thought one given by Mr. Peter Nathan was a particularly helpful one to recommend.
